UMass Memorial Medical Center Palliative Care
Consultation Service
UMass Memorial Medical Center, Memorial Campus, 119 Belmont
Street, Worcester, MA 01605. Offered through the Department of
Medicine, the Palliative Care Consultation Service provides
continuous palliative care from early to late stages of disease that
complements care provided by the patient’s physician and primary

UMass Memorial Home Health and Hospice Pediatric
Palliative Care Program
UMass Memorial Home Health and Hospice is one of
only 10 hospices in Massachusetts to embark on a new Pediatric
Palliative Care Program, administered by the Massachusetts
Department of Public Health. The program differs from hospice care
in a number of ways. There is no requirement for a six-month
prognosis. Children must have a life-limiting disease. Curative
treatments may be continued and the family need not discontinue
services of other providers.
Services include consults for pain and symptom management,
assessment and care management, counseling, spiritual support, music
and massage therapies, respite care, and bereavement care for family

Palliative Care Consultation Service
